August 2023Hastings Waterfront Festival
Dreamland Resort 885 River Road Ashodel-Norwood ON K0L1Y0 Saturday August 19th 9:30 am start |
The Hastings Waterfront Festival has agreed to include us in their event. There is a new wooden dock on the North side opposite the marina that will hold about 12 boats. They will reserve that dock for us and we can set up our tent in front of the dock. They will provide us lunch tickets for all of us who participate.
We can launch at Dreamland Resort, (Eric Crowley member) and we can park our trailers and vehicles. Dreamland is a few kilometers west of Hastings. We will arrive at about 9:30 am, remain at the dock until 2:30 pm and then do a circle in front of the marina and then head off west for a run into Rice Lake and then back to Dreamland for haul out. Since the dock holds about 12 boats, I am suggesting that we accept the first 12 members who sign up to bring a boat on a first come first served basis. If you're interested in attending this event, please contact: John 705-651-2867 [email protected] |

2023 Spring Tour
Saturday April 22 Boating season is just around the corner which makes this a great time of year to tour the shops of some of central Ontario’s most talented and dedicated boat restorers and builders at this year’s Spring Tour on Saturday, April 22. Since there hasn’t been an in-person Spring Tour since 2019, the boat shops are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to see what they’ve been working on. A few days before the event, participants will receive a Boat Shop List, complete with addresses and driving directions so that they can plan a driving route. Event organizer and ACBS-Toronto President, Jeff Titshall made the rounds recently to the shops involved – it was a full day considering that there are over 10 shops participating this year. Several are in the Muskoka region (Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Port Carling, Milford Bay, and Huntsville). In addition, we will be showcasing some shops on video during lunch, from Gravenhurst, Rockwood, and Nestleton Station. Lunch will be at the Port Carling Legion this year, which is a new location, at 4 Bailey Street between 11:30 and 2:00. It’s a fabulous time to meet up with familiar friends and make some new ones while you re-fuel your engine for the shops you want to visit in the afternoon. Tickets can be purchased at Nexicom Email Protection has detected a possible fraud attempt from "sslinks.acbs.ca" claiming to be www.acbs.ca. (If you would rather not register and pay online, please call Lisa Gridley, Event Registrar at 705-733-4332 or email her at [email protected] before April 15.) The cost for the Boat Shop List and Lunch is $30.00 for members of ACBS, TSACBA, MLAOC & Manotick and $35.00 for Non-Members. Children (12 and under) are $13.00. To become a member of ACBS-Toronto, please go to Nexicom Email Protection has detected a possible fraud attempt from "sslinks.acbs.ca" claiming to be www.acbs.ca. If you’d rather just do the tour and skip lunch, the ticket price is $15.00/person. Please show your support by purchasing a ticket for each person in your group. For more information, please contact Jeff Titshall at [email protected] or Lisa Gridley at [email protected] or by phone at 705-733-4332. The Registration Deadline is Saturday, April 19. |
