August 2022Hastings Waterfront Festival
Dreamland Resort 885 River Road Ashodel-Norwood ON K0L1Y0 Saturday August 20th 9:30 am start |
The Hastings Waterfront Festival has agreed to include us in their event. There is a new wooden dock on the North side opposite the marina that will hold about 16 boats. They will reserve that dock for us and we can set up our tent in front of the dock. They will provide us lunch tickets for all of us who participate.
We can launch at Dreamland Resort, (Eric Crowley member) and we can park our trailers and vehicles. Dreamland is a few kilometers west of Hastings. We will arrive at about 9:30 am, remain at the dock until 2:30 pm and then do a circle in front of the marina and then head off west for a run into Rice Lake and then back to Dreamland for haul out. Since the dock holds about 16 boats, I am suggesting that we accept the first 16 members who sign up to bring a boat on a first come first served basis. TSACBA Summer Test and Tune Up Event
In attendance: Wally Hicks, Murray and Vicky Parnell, Tim Jackson & Ruth Giles, Tom Davis & Rhonda Ellis, Terry & Roberta Philpot, Ken Lavalette & Pat, Radu & Joy, John & Vicki Gullick, Peter & Ann Johnston, Wayne Robinson, Wayne Dunbar, Doug Barraball, Neil, Sandy Beatty, Tim & Jenn Walters, Susan & Peter, Mike Gridley, Don Husack, John Kwast, Steve Silverthorne, Prior Smith, Dave Moore, and Pat O’Grady. Terry and Roberta Philpot were our wonderful hosts for this event. People started arriving around 9a.m. Coffee, tea, water, cookies, and donuts were available. Those that brought boats were busy getting them in the water. There was plenty of people available to help, lend tools and offer advice. Someone needed a plug for their boat and Terry had an extra one. A few boaters had some engine issues, with one being towed back to the dock! After a short run, we headed back for lunch. Everyone brought their own lunch. There was plenty of discussion about repairs on boats and motors. Plus, a lot of catching up with each other! Everyone had a great time and are looking forward to the next event. |
