I found this boat at an auction. I attended to look at antique furniture, (my occupation was as a cabinet maker building replica 1800 century furniture). There was nothing interesting in furniture, but the boat intrigued me, at the end of the auction I asked why the boat was not in it? The answer I got was that they did not think anyone would be interested, so I offered $200.00 for it, after a little haggling I got it for $350.00 only to find out when I went to pick it up that the trailer (a Tee Nee) and a Johnson 35 hp RD engine was included! The boat is a mold liner (plywood) Peterborough Mercury 1958 this was in 2015. It was painted inside and out with antifouling paint it took a long time to scrape and sand! I found the bill of sale for $1595.00 for boat, trailer and motor!

I later found out it had been in the barn where I found it for at least 35 years maybe longer, when stripped out there was only three patches where it had a small amount of rot, the seat strips along the side were rotten and had to be replaced along with seats, (missing) and a complete new decking (years of barn droppings)!

As I live close to Lake Simcoe this boat draws people to look at it every time I put it in the water! We enjoy riding to the local restaurants for lunch or supper, well worth the time put into it, looking for another one now!
